This is quite possibly the most ferocious looking car to ever roll off a production line and it is called the 2009 Pagani Zonda R. Underneath the rear body “clamshell” (similar to the body of a Lotus Elise) lives a Mercedes Benz AMG V12 engine with a rating of 750 horsepower at a screaming 8000 RPM; power is transmitted through a six speed manual sequential gearbox.

The idea to create this car comes from an ambitious and loyal customer who already has a rich stable of three Zondas in his garage. Naturally, Pagani was keen to embark and please his best client. This isn’t the first time Pagani has created such a car, in 2004 the Zonda Monza was shown at the Paris Motor Show for the very same purpose, but if the recently released drawings are anything to go by, this new Zonda goes much, much further.

In 2006, these drawings were laid out and Mercedes-AMG had come on board to offer a dry-sump version of their potent V12 – the same used in the CLK GTR LeMans racecar. Pagani outfits this unit with a new carbon fibre intake system, a racing multiple disc sintered clutch and Formula 1 style exhaust system, hydroformed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation. These, along with AMG’s internal upgrades offer 750 hp (559 Kw) at 8000 rpm and 523 ft lbs (710 Nm).

The engine is built by the racing specialists at Mercedes AMG, where the championship winning DTM cars are born, as well as the CLK GTR, probably the most devastating and effective weapon ever to compete in the GT series. From it’s engine the Zonda R borrows the basic architecture including an ingenious dry sump allowing a low centre of gravity. This self-supporting engine with 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 710 Nm of torque carries a lightweight carbon fibre highperformance intake system, a racing multiple disc sintered clutch and Formula 1 style exhaust system, hydroformed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation. The power unit combined with a 6 speed transversal manual sequential synchronised gearbox is designed to satisfy the most ambitious drivers.

The central carbon chassis will incorporate a roll cage and a rubber racing fuel tank with 4 fuel pumps and quick refuel filler like on GT race cars. The wheelbase has been increased by 47mm to offer the best stability. The front and rear subframes are brand-new, built to accommodate a new suspension geometry, produced in avional. The magnesium forged rims with central wheel nut and a quick pneumatic lifting system allows fast and effortless changes of the slick tyres.

BMW 3-Series Convertible customers have a choice of two inline-6 engines that are the worlds’ finest. The BMW 328i features 230 horsepower while the 335i has 300 horsepower and is the first inline-6 equipped with a single twin-scroll turbocharger, BMW’s Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology, High Precision direct fuel injection, and all-aluminum construction.

The BMW 335i’s new inline-6 engine displaces 3.0-liters and develops maximum output of 300 hp at 5,800 rpm, with peak torque of 300 lb-ft available all the way from 1,200-5,000 rpm. Redline is 7,000 rpm. This is the same level of performance as the previous 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 but with the innovation of twin-scroll technology and the integration of Valvetronic, this new engine is even more fuel efficient.

The peak power is 300 hp at 5800rpm, this is fully 70 hp up on the 2011 328i models. At least as important is the fact that this engine can deliver its peak torque from 1200 rpm – not far above idling – to 5000 rpm visit Lincah. On the road, this power and torque result in outstanding performance. The 335i Convertible and BMW 3-Series Coupe can accelerate from 0 – 60 mph in just 5.3 (5.5) seconds and 5.5 (5.7) seconds, respectively, when equipped with the manual (automatic) transmission. The sense of urgency continues all the way to the electronically limited top speed of 130 mph (150 mph when equipped with the optional Sport Package).

The BMW 328i Convertible is powered by BMW’s 230 horsepower, 200 lb-ft, 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, known internally as the N52. Its magnesium/aluminum construction and Valvetronic variable valve lift are features found only on BMW engines. The N52 achieves impressive progress on all performance and technology fronts, especially in its remarkably light weight of 357 lbs. An aluminum/magnesium engine block, hollow camshafts, plastic camshaft cover, improved combustion chambers, a further evolved Double VANOS, higher fuel injection pressure, sophisticated engine electronics, an electric coolant pump, a variable-volume oil pump and an oil/coolant heat exchanger are the other weight-saving features and improvements of this engine over previous generations.

The 2011 BMW 3-Series Convertible and BMW 3-Series Coupe models will go on sale in Spring 2010, and pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.

The experienced tuners have also upped the engine power to 750 hp. The performance increase up to 750 hp is offered at the price of 28500 Euro, the standard version with performance increase “only” to 710 hp costs 19500 Euro.

To complete the tuning package for the Lamborghini Murciélago, JB Car Design offers exclusive, three-piece 20? alloy wheels at the price from 8700 Euro.This sports car is perceived as such owing to a controlled exhaust system along with sport catalysts and headers.

The interior is garnished with a noble bicolor leather or Alcantara, at the price of 9700 Euro. There is also a steering wheel with airbag 32 cm or 34 cm in diameter for 1970 Euro. A high-end sound system with additional subwoofer and amplifier complete the whole image.
